An Analysis of Generic Expressions in Situation Semantics

0. Introduction. This paper aims to provide a proper analysis of generic expressions within the framework of Situation Semantics. The analysis suggests a computational model for the appropriate semantic processing of the sentences with generic expressions. The theory in this paper is motivated on the basis of the data from Korean and English, and it is assumed to be generalized to other languages. For this purpose the generic expressions are divided into two categories: namely, Noun Phrase (NP) generics and Verb Phrase (VP) generics.
